WHAT'S GOING ON WITH GORILLAZ N' JANES?
Well, it's been almost a year since we began our quest to open up Portland's first, modern, hardcore, bodybuilding, powerlifting and strongman strength & conditioning facility.
What's the hold up?
Well, there's a few key elements that we have to have in order for our gym to be a long term success; lots of space for equipment, posing and event practicing, ample free-members-only parking spaces and easy access to and from the highways and freeways that run through our city. To date, we've found four locations that fit that bill.
Over the course of the summer and fall of 2008 we negotiated with three of them for a lease agreement and all three deals fell through (somebody tell these property owners that there's an economic depression going on and to get real with their demands.)
Now we've found the best space out of the four desired locations and with this one we're making the move to purchase the building outright. As soon as the property's in our possession, we'll begin the building and renovating process.
Thank you for your patience and thank you for your continued interest in our upcoming mega iron sports training center.
HOW A GYM BECOMES # 1 IN A CITY
There's two vital factors in which Gorillaz N' Janes is miles ahead of the other gyms and fitness clubs in the Greater Portland Metro Area.
The first is our strength & conditioning coaches. The four coaches we've recruited have won professional and amateur benchpress competitions all over the country, they've won amateur strongman competitions and one of them has even won an NPC Masters Nationals!
Not only are our strength and bodybuilding coaches certified and experienced at personal training, they've also got years of gym time under their lifting belts and one of them even has a 4 year physical sports science degree from Portland State University. These guys can raw bench 400 pounds for reps, raw squat 500 pounds for reps, raw deadlift 600 pounds for reps, compete in any strongman event and get up on a bodybuilding stage. Some of them also have high school and/or collegiate football or wrestling experience so they're very familiar with using the weight room to improve an athlete's sports performance on the playing field and on the mat. Some of our trainers have also been featured in Iron Man Magazine, Powerlifting USA, Southern Muscle Plus and in BodyTalk Magazine (all hard copy print publications.)
The other aspect where we win in aces is the equipment we'll be featuring in our gym:
